Terms and Conditions of Enrollment

Buenos Aires TEFL Institute

It is vital that you read these Terms and Conditions carefully before applying to or accepting any program at the Buenos Aires TEFL Institute (hereinafter referred to as “The School”). By submitting your application and completing the enrollment process, “The Student” enters into a legally binding contract with The School and agrees to abide by the following policies.

1. Admissions and Payment Protocol

We operate on a strict schedule with limited capacity to ensure personalized TEFL training. The enrollment process is as follows:

  • Application & Review: Upon submission of the online application, The School will review the candidate’s eligibility within 48 hours.

  • Mandatory Interview: Eligible candidates must schedule a Zoom meeting with our Academic Advisor to discuss their goals and suitability for the program.

  • Payment & Confirmation: Tuition payment is required in full immediately following the Zoom meeting.

    • A seat in the course is only secured once full payment is received.

    • Failure to submit payment immediately after the interview will result in the release of the spot to another candidate.

2. Documentation and Integrity Policy

The School maintains a strict standard regarding the authenticity of student documentation.

  • Health Certificate: Students must demonstrate medical fitness to complete the intensive training.

    • You are required to use the specific Medical Health Form provided by The School.

    • This form must be signed and stamped by a licensed physician in your home country prior to your departure.

    • Students with pre-existing conditions (including anxiety or depression) are eligible provided they are stable, but this must be verified by the signing physician.

  • Prohibition of Fraudulent Documents: We do not accept fake, altered, or unverified electronic certificates. Any student found submitting a fake medical certificate, fake criminal record, or fake C1 English certificate will be immediately disqualified from the program without recourse.

  • English Proficiency: Non-native speakers must submit a valid C1 Level Certificate. Native English speakers are exempt from this documentation.

  • Visa Status: The Student is responsible for ensuring they can enter Argentina as a tourist. The School does not issue visa letters or assist with immigration or embassy matters.

3. Refund and Cancellation Policy

  • General Refund Policy: There is no refund whatsoever if The Student cancels the program once payment has been made.

  • Post-Commencement: Once the TEFL course has started and materials/classes have been made available, The Student has no right to a refund.

  • Accommodation Refunds: If accommodation is arranged through The School, funds are paid to landlords in advance. Therefore, if a student decides they do not like the accommodation upon arrival, no refund is possible.

    • The School reserves the right to move a student only if the accommodation is deemed “not comfortable” by The School’s standards. If the accommodation meets standard requirements, no alternative will be offered.

4. Code of Conduct and Behavioral Expectations

We demand a high degree of maturity and professionalism.

  • Respect: Students must maintain respectful behavior towards TEFL Trainers, staff, and peers.

  • Zero Tolerance: Any student displaying disrespectful, aggressive, or threatening behavior towards staff in Buenos Aires will be removed from the TEFL course immediately without refund. In cases of threatening behavior, local authorities will be informed.

  • Defamation: If a student defames The School on any platform (social media, reviews, etc.), The School reserves the right to take legal action under the Argentine Penal Code (Articles 109, 110) or applicable international laws.

  • Communication: Responsiveness to emails is a requirement for continued enrollment. The School reserves the right to remove unresponsive students to ensure efficient use of instructor time.

5. Academic Attendance and Requirements

  • Mandatory Participation: 100% attendance is expected. You must attend all academic hours, observations, and teaching practice sessions. These are carefully scheduled and mandatory.

  • Absences: Missed classes or teaching practices due to COVID, illness, or personal reasons will not be made up unless an original medical certificate (from a real doctor) is presented.

  • Media Release: By enrolling, The Student grants The School permission to use their image, video, CV, and course feedback for social media, websites, and job placement purposes with potential employers.

6. Deferral and Re-enrollment Policy

Participants who have paid but cannot attend due to unforeseen circumstances (serious illness, injury, or family emergency) may request a deferral.

  • Notification: The School must be notified in writing at least two weeks before the course start date.

  • Validity: A deferral is valid for one year from the original start date at no extra cost.

  • Re-enrollment Fee: If a student fails to attend without a focused deferral, or wishes to return after the one-year deferral period expires, a re-enrollment fee of $895 USD applies.
