Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for our TEFL program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Age: Applicants must be between at least 21 years old.

Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is required; candidates must be native speakers or demonstrate fluency via a C1 Advanced certificate. It has to be recent.

Health and Background: Proof of good health and a clean criminal record is mandatory.

Commitment: A strong commitment to the program is essential, including the ability to dedicate all focus to the course without other obligations.

Academic Requirements:

Complete all scheduled classroom hours.

Pass all examinations.

Fulfill 10 hours of classroom observation.

Engage in 20 hours of teaching practice sessions.

Submit all written assignments and materials on time.

Attend all observations, teaching practices and examinations and tutor-marked assignments.

Diploma Collection: Candidates must be present in person to receive their TEFL diploma at the conclusion of the course.

To apply for one of our course start dates, eligibility to enter Argentina as a tourist is required.

There is no registration fee associated with the application process.

Applicants will receive a Program Confirmation email outlining their payment deadline. You will also need to indicate your preference regarding accommodation through the school, as it is optional.

Our recommended 56-night accommodation option allows you to remain in the same location during your TEFL training and the first weeks following the course while you become established in Buenos Aires.
Palacio Piedras is located in the same building as our school in downtown Buenos Aires, making it especially convenient for international TEFL trainees.

Students may take these additional Spanish classes before or after the TEFL course, depending on course dates and availability.
WHY DO WE RECOMMEND 56 NIGHTS OF ACCOMMODATION?
The 56-night accommodation option is particularly popular with international trainees because it gives them additional time in Buenos Aires following their teacher training.
Rather than having to move immediately after completing the TEFL course, graduates can remain in a familiar location while continuing their Spanish studies, exploring teaching opportunities and becoming established in the city.
Accommodation through Buenos Aires TEFL Institute is completely optional.
At Palacio Piedras, students can live and study in the same centrally located building, with 24-hour building security and easy access to downtown Buenos Aires, San Telmo, Plaza de Mayo and Avenida de Mayo.
SPANISH CLASSES INCLUDED IN YOUR TEFL COURSE
All TEFL participants receive 10 hours of in-person Spanish classes during Week 5 of the program at no additional tuition cost.
These classes are available for students from Beginner through Upper-Intermediate Spanish levels.
They are particularly useful for future English teachers living in Argentina because learning Spanish can help you:

Graduates planning to teach English in Buenos Aires are strongly encouraged to remain in the city for at least six months, as this considerably increases the range of employment opportunities available.
Employment depends on factors including the graduate’s qualifications, professional performance, availability, language skills, immigration or work status, interview performance and individual employer requirements.
For this reason, Buenos Aires TEFL Institute provides comprehensive Job Placement Assistance rather than promising automatic employment.

WHY CAN END DATES SOMETIMES VARY?
Our TEFL program is designed as a five-week program. However, Argentina observes national and local holidays, and occasionally unforeseen circumstances may affect the academic calendar.
For this reason, applicants should confirm their specific course schedule with us before making travel arrangements that depend on an exact final class date.

If you are already in Buenos Aires, you may also arrange an appointment to visit our physical school before enrolling.
Payment
Once you have been accepted and decide to enroll, you will receive a Program Confirmation and formal payment instructions.
Your place is considered confirmed once the required course payment has been received by the deadline stated in your Program Confirmation.
Accommodation
Accommodation is optional.
Students wishing to stay at Palacio Piedras should indicate this when applying because availability is limited.
English-Language Requirements
Native and fluent English speakers may apply.
Non-native English speakers should normally demonstrate approximately C1 English proficiency or higher and may be asked to complete written and spoken English assessments before admission.
Entry into Argentina
International applicants are responsible for confirming the immigration and entry requirements that apply to their nationality before travelling to Argentina.
TEFL COURSE DEFERRAL AND RE-ENROLLMENT POLICY
Deferral Due to Serious Personal Circumstances
Participants who are unable to attend their originally scheduled TEFL course because of significant unforeseen circumstances may request a deferral.
An approved deferral may allow the participant to transfer enrollment to another available TEFL course date within one year of the original course start date.
Conditions for Deferral
Valid Reason: Requests should relate to significant circumstances beyond the participant’s reasonable control, such as serious illness, injury or family emergency.
Timely Notification: Participants should notify Buenos Aires TEFL Institute in writing as soon as possible.
Documentation: Supporting documentation may be requested when appropriate.
Re-enrollment Following an Approved Deferral
Participants granted an approved deferral may transfer to an available course date within the permitted deferral period, subject to the conditions established in their enrollment documentation.
Requests made outside the permitted deferral period may be subject to the current re-enrollment conditions and fees.
Students should always refer to the Terms and Conditions applicable at the time of enrollment for the complete cancellation, deferral and re-enrollment policy.
